Re: Not a Granny Car, or is it ???

It has nothing to do with the fact that they are K-cars, it simply has to do with the fact that they are from the 80s. Anything with boxy styling is labeled a granny car... no matter what it is. Oldsmobile Cutlass, Ford Fairmont, Chevrolet Celebrity. All were "family sedans (or coupes)" wh...

Re: My K is ready for it's long winter nap

I only drive about 4000 miles a year, I don't understand how people can possibly rack up 10,000+.... you must be in your car for half of your life. I guess some of it has to do with the fact that people live 80 miles (or more) from where they work, which is also insane. My LeBaron is going into hibe...

Re: I thought old cars were stronger in accidents. Upsetting vid

The pure size of a car does not matter in a collision at all, it's all about how it is designed. The '59 has no safety engineering in the body whatsoever (doesn't even have seatbelts for the passengers!). The Malibu has crumple zones and while it does have thinner and lighter building materials they...

Re: buying a aries in spain

Very nice looking Aries! It even has a floor shifter and center console. I didn't know they even had an option for that, cool!

Is it just me or does it look exactly like Guy's car?

The black-out grille looks fantastic! All Aries/Reliants should have it. Any better pics of those wheels?

Re: Saw one of the last living LA 80s taxis in existence on fwy!

If you know where to look, they are definitely out there. There's a photographer on Flickr who lives in San Diego, and he often takes pictures of the area's cabs, many of which are from the late 80s. A couple weeks ago he spotted this Chevrolet Celebrity Station Wagon Taxi: http://www.flickr.com/pho...

Re: My new daily.

I still cannot believe you got 21,000 bucks for an Aries that's worth less than 3,000.... it seems like amazingly good things just keep happening to you car-wise. First you inherit a $50,000 muscle car, then you have 21K magically appear out of nowhere... and on top of that you buy another new car e...

Re: Back in a K

Ouch, 138k is a lot for an early Turbo. That's why it was such a good price! Looks to be in really great shape though, from the photo. Good luck with it, and be careful and make sure to wacth the temp guage!
