I would not worry about the extra revs unless it is excessive. Carbed cars will have a solonoid acutuate to bring the revs up a bit when AC is turned on to compensate for the extra drag of the compressor. AC should also kick on the fan at the same time. If concerned it is too much and not confusing ...

Thank you, good info on the variations possible. Will see what the supplier has to say and shop around until I find someone that knows what they are talking about before making a change.
