Re: K-car A/C repair tips

My car just needs a compressor clutch, but there's no K's at my junkyard and to pay full price for a new one (111 dollars! ) is waaaay too much. It may need a freon refresh as well, but I'll get to that once the compressor is functioning with a clutch again. Good news: When I got the Monte C...

Re: They're all trucks, my friends

I'm afraid to go to any dealers as I don't want to suddenly find a lot full of 80s cars. You definitely won't. If you look at what the dealers have it's almost all 1990s SUVs and Minivans. Sure, there is an 80s sedan or wagon here or there but nothing compared to the majority. Just always keep the ...

Re: They're all trucks, my friends

Yes it is a shame that they are killing vehicles so meaninglessly (is that a word? LOL) but I'd rather it be an SUV than a nice sedan or wagon. I think I'm going to go to some local dealers and look at their selection of "clunkers" just to see what people are trading in around here. If I s...

They're all trucks, my friends

The evidence keeps piling up. Check out this article to see the top 10 "clunkers" turned in. ALL TRUCKS AND VANS. Plus the article also quotes an even higher statistic than I said before. 83 percent of all clunkers traded in are trucks/vans. Be happy. Rejoice! http://autos.yahoo.com/articl...

Re: On the Road Report

There are a ton of Dynastys around here, too many to count really. The only thing is, the vast majority of them are in absolutely horrible condition. Many of them are dragging on the ground, leading me to believe that they had a poorly designed/built rear suspension.

Re: Electronic Voice Alert (EVA)

That was you? I favorited that a while ago, it's very entertaining. Do you leave the EVA on all the time or turn it off for most driving? I can imagine if my car had it then it would probably drive me to insanity and I would have to destroy the unit with a baseball bat.

Re: Government Sponsored Distruction

I wager half the existing 80s Lincoln Towncars will now not be resold. Please do not make ridiculous statements like that. It's just stupid and silly, no where near that many will be destroyed, there were well over 1 million produced and there are still many out there, and CFC is destroying 80% tru...

Re: Getting some heat from Cardomain.com member: investor1092

Man, am I glad I have the convertible version of the K-car. Not saying that the non-covertibles aren't good, I love them just as much but from an outsider's point of view it's a lot harder to criticize a droptop than a homely family sedan. Never once has anyone called my car ugly, in real life or on...

Re: Yet another reason NOT to worry about CFC

Ok yes maybe a few big cars are getting traded in, but it's nothing compared to the amount that are out there, it will barely make a dent in them (so to speak) As I said on another thread, there are 37 million cars over the age of 15 in the US, destroying 250,000 isn't going to make a difference, es...
