Veronica, I just read your post out loud to my co-workers. you are awesome! I've been fighting with my stupidvisor about the new "safe" fibreglass crapbuckets that he religiously praises saying that steel cars are unsafe. ya know what? I plow my 86 plymouth into your 2011 charger, you gotta get a new car, i got minor body work at 30 miles per hour. you spend 30k i spend 2. ...youre airbags go off, knock you unconcious, i walk away from the scene with a cut. i am so pro steel! lol

K-cars are better in terms of accident survival. Being rearended twice in mine proved that. Yet, as much as I will always love K-cars the best, the 1980s GM X bodies are superior in accidents. I have seen two of these rare 80s Skylarks plowed into other cars, and they are still driveable and being used in my neigborhood 2 years later. You can ram a Skylark at 30mph into a car, and at worst you'll suffer a bent steel bumper, but the car will still be driveable. There is an olds Omega at my old school that was hit in the back twice and the front once at about 20-30 mph. The frame may now be a little bent, but this teacher proudly drives the last living Omega in most of the valley with a 1987 tag. 8)
