WINDSHIELD WIPER MECHANISM

Postby marty21711 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 9:59 pm

Hi guys, has any one successfully replaced the bushings on the windshield wiper transmission arms? If so what did you use? All was working fine until it snowed. I have a 1986 aires.

thanks Marty

Wow this is an old postwith no replies, so I thought I'd just throw my 0.02 cents in.

Just a screwdriver to pry the arms apart and a pair of pliers to squeeze the arm into the bushing.

If use heat the bushing in very warm water (about 120*) it will make the bushing much less brittle. Just don't make the water so hot it melts the bushings.
