A while back I saw Jodi22 posted many times about a free 86 caravelle w/turbo. Does anyone know if this car is still available? I did not wish to call and bother if someone had picked it up

Hi there. I am not sure, but I would just call her. So, can you explain to me the starting problem?

Well, this caravelle has been sitting around for some years. Before sitting it was ran until the gas ran out so no gas has been sitting. My battery was bad so I went and replaced it. I put a few gallons in the car and tried to start it up. You can hear that the car wants to start. Popped a hose off the carburetor and sprayed some seafoam in it. Actually I had someone spray the seafoam in while I cranked it and the car fired up, ran for a few seconds spewing white smoke, and then shut back down

Well, I would be curious to see some pictures of your project, and kudos to you. I have a good friend in Ripon, California that rescued a dead 85 Caravelle, and yours is only the 3rd in our club. They drove it on a wing and a prayer from Riverside to Ripon and they have been restoring it. It is now a running car, and they had it repainted. We'll do the best we can for ya, and look forward to the finished project. If you want to send me some pics, I'll post a news story on our newsblog about a fellow Texacan restoring the Caravelle. Anyway you can make a video of the starting attempts? 8-)

Anything that can help get this car ready for the road I'm willing to do. Also, I'll take some pictures of the caravelle. For the video do you want one with or without using seafoam in the carburetor?

Oh, and do you know of a good way to clean the engine compartment without dismantling? I'd like to clean it up a bit before taking pictures

Ok, so I have not yet had a chance to get more seafoam and make videos yet, but I have done a bit more research on the matter and I've come to the conclusion that its my fuel pump. I'm in the proccess of moving and regrettably I've packed away my chilton book rather than place it in the car. Does anyone know where my fuel pump is? 1985 caravelle. Hoping its not in the gas tank.

So now I'm trying to figure out if I have a fuse box under the hood, or just the one under the dash. And which fuse goes to the fuel pump
