89 Lebaron, no fuel pump when key is turned on, but if I run 12 volts to blue wire with white tracer, the ASD clicks, the pump goes on and the car will run,Possible ECM ? Should fuel pump keep running when is in on position?, or does it have a 3-5 second delay?. Thanks in advance if anybody can help.....

Hi
I'd have a look at the distributor pickup and wiring to the SMEC first . You should get an initial 1-2 second fuel shot when you cycle the ignition switch , if the SMEC does not see an ignition reference signal it will not activate the ASD relay. Check to see if any fault codes exist Code 11 and code 42 in particular.... hope this helps....

Thanks, you know I have a digital dash and don't see a check engine light anywhere on the dash, any ideas?,I tried my snap-on mt2500 and that would not let me go into diagnostics, which has me believing a possible ecm problem exists, like I said before the engine will run if i run the 12v too the one wire on the asd.But the pump runs constant in that mode.

Hi
I'm not that familiar with the '89 LeBaron dash especially the digital one but on the earlier Electronic dashes there was a "power limited" indicator.
There is a very good chance you have a problem with the SMEC (Ecm) if your scanner won't talk to it.... I will add that the Chrysler systems were fussy with the memory cartridge used with the scanner. I have an OTC 4000E and there are times that I
had to go with the "next year up cartridge " to talk to an engine computer or run any functions (ie: switch tests) I found that quite often with the vans and the A604 Ultradrive trans.
