Chrysler K-Car Club lawsuit against yard.

Postby 89ARIES » Fri Jan 03, 2014 11:53 pm

Chrysler K-Car Club: Potential lawsuit
for theft of club member's 1985 limo.
Monterey, California.

Our club member had his limo towed for no
registration. He went to the junkyard to retrieve
it. He asked the yard to hold it for one or
two days. They agreed, but lied. They went ahead
and crushed the car without his knowledge. This was
one of three sole surviving 85 limos in California.
We are going to sue.

Sadly, they hate them, and they are almost extinct now here in the USA, and we are running out of time to save them. The idiot tow truck driver listed the car as a New Yorker, so it could be valued
at less than $4000, and now we don't know if our club member will get any financial compensation. Mexico is full of K-cars and the Mexican club and I are meeting Sunday.

yeah, unregistered old car....eye candy for any scrap yard!

even if you have your vehicle parked off the street on private land, you need to check what is legally allowed on your property. glad i live on a private, dead end road, otherwise some @$#%& would probably have towed off my grandpa's 87 Ram 50 by now. heck, even if your vehicle is registered, someone is liable to tow it off to a shady yard if they get the opportunity. i've heard of that happening up here in northern new england even. guy had his pickup up on jack stands and almost back together during repairs. came home one day to find it gone and the salvage yard had already crushed it by the time he got there.

note to the wise....if you have anything of value, lock it up (collector car storage facility, secure garage, etc).

This is called theft, tyranny, government intrusion. I also will continue to lobby the word rare, because our cars aren't going to be around
much longer. I think California crushed the last early LeBaron sedan.
