When was last K-car

I just purchased a '95 Plymouth Acclaim for a daily driver. My brother, who's been a Mopar enthusiast since he went to Chrysler's Motech school, said the 1995 Dodge Spirit and Plymouth Acclaim were the last of the K-cars. 1996 began the LH-car era. Your WEB page does not list any vehicles after 1989. What are the facts? What body code were the 1990 cars if they were not K-cars?

well, our club only focuses on the k-car body itself, but yes the dodge spirit and plymouth accalim are just warmed over k-cars.1981-1989 were the last of the k-car body, but the drive train in the spirit is a k-car.

Hi Eric!

According to the Standard Catalog of Chrysler, the 1990 Dodges and Plymouths (and Chrysler) switched to the A platform. Although the A platform cars appeared to be related to the K cars, they were not (with exception to the four cylinder drivetrains).

In 1996, the Stratus and Breeze replaced the Acclaim and Spirit, although they retained the A platform.

Hope this clears things up.

Giving you my best,

Tom
