Saw one of the last living LA 80s taxis in existence on fwy!

Well, I had totally acccepted in the last few years that the 80s taxicab was extinct here, that Los Angeles government had outlawed them all, and its been 7 years since an 80s Ford Crown Victoria
was used as a taxi anywhere in this area that I know of. Then, like a blast from the past, I saw in disbelief a real, authentic 1980s Ford Crown Victoria taxicab on the Hollywood freeway a few days
ago. I thought I was dreaming. It had passengers in it and all the authentic writing and everything. It was not a show car or a clone. It was a real survivor still providing service 20 years later. Now, there
is a possibility it could have been 1990 or 1991, but close enough.

If you know where to look, they are definitely out there.

There's a photographer on Flickr who lives in San Diego, and he often takes pictures of the area's cabs, many of which are from the late 80s. A couple weeks ago he spotted this Chevrolet Celebrity Station Wagon Taxi:
