Hi Mike in New Jersey,

I can't believe the similarities in our backgrounds, family owned, got it about the same age, similar milage ( I have 112,000 km or about 67,000 m ) put on about 1,000 m. a year etc.
My only short-coming for showing the car is don't lift the hood! It has never been cleaned. I would be interested in seeing your photos.

Pete, the article did not give a breakdown , I would like to know myself.
I scanned it and will attach it, and check to see if it can be read, otherwise we need to exchange e mail addresses

Hi Martin and Pete. Glad to hear from you both. Yes, Martin, our stories are very close. I don't know about you but for the first 20 years or so, everyone told me to "just get rid of that car." Even my parents. They would ask, "Why are you keeping it?" Anyway, I'm glad I did.

I would love to post some pictures, if I can figure out how. I tried a few times last night, but I couldn't get it. May you two can talk me through it. Thanks. - Mike

Mike,
To upload images to this site they have to be 250 KB or less, I use adobe photoshop, go to image size, change down to 500 X (auto setting) Pixels, save as a copy (or whatever you want to name it) so it doesn't replace you original, and it should show the image size. May have to fiddle with it depending on the image size you started with, My 7 Meg camera gives me images about 2.5 MB that have to be brought down to the 250KB range. Good Luck, it took me a while to figure it out.

The car was in good shape when I got it , less than 40,000 m. It was my Dad's last Convertible ( his 5 th one over the years ) so when Mom went to trade it after he had passed away and was insulted with the trade-in price, she was glad that I wanted to keep it in the family and preserve it. I sure wish I had some of the others he had, but that will be another story later.

Bye for now, Martin

Martin - Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and attach a picture from the car show, last fall. I had a hard enough time just logging-on. I was booted out a few times. This show they let us keep the top down. The first show the judges wanted it up to see its condition. They also checked under the hood and in the trunk.

I took the car over from my parents in 1986, when it had only 24,000 miles on it. When my paernts bought it, they traded in the 1976 Triumph TR6. I wish I still had that too. - Mike

Hi Guys. Pete, I know what you mean about the dings. I have a few myself. That's because people don't appreciate that its a classic. They just think its an old car. - Mike
