What if any goals do you have in collecting K cars?

Postby chucky » Tue Dec 01, 2009 2:12 am

One of my biggest objectives is to eventually buy a super nice T&C wagon or convertible to go with my black 86 Turbo convertible Mark Cross Lebaron.

DO you have any goals like a K car in a paticular color or bodystyle, or to customize your own K car?

I don't know if I have any K car goals, my '81 Reliant is restored 99% factory correct and I will always keep that car that way. However also being a custom car lover from way back, I have been thinking about a K car custom, maybe recreating a reproduction of one of the early prototype K cars, or something strangely 50's style in flat primer, no chrome, red wheels with little hubcaps, and wide whitewalls. Maybe add south of the boarder style colorful blanket seat covers, maybe a big Clay Smith decal on the side or something like the Hudson Hornet lettering from the movie Cars, only mine would say "Fabulous Plymouth Reliant" instead of Hudson!

Interesting ideas 1of10K...say did I read someplace here that you bought a new Reliant as your first car back in 81? Also are there photos of K car prototypes on the web someplace? I'd love to see them and a snap of your 81 as well!

Thanks,

CHUCKY.

When I get money, I will collect primarily 1st generation K-cars and ones that are not considered valuable like the convertibles. They will be practically extinct soon and the club president has room for
every car.

Your forgot the 1982-1983 Dodge 400 sedan. One surfaced in California last month that could be bought for $800. The seller seems to be kind of a jerk as he ignored my three emails begging for more photos. This
guy doesn't even list a contact. Another Dodge 400 sedan lost to antiquity.

Anybody ever convert a LeBaron/400/600 convertible to an Aries/Reliant convertible?
Now that would be interesting.
What the factory should have done to begin with,an "economy" convertible.

Shame a Daytona/Laser nose wouldnt fit onto a K car too.....
