Car Show Praise But No Trophy

Postby MFF3 » Mon Sep 08, 2008 12:13 am

Well, I took my '82 convertible to a car show today, in Seaside Heights, NJ. So many people came over to talk about my
K-Car. Everyone seemed to love it. Most people either had one at one time, or knew someone who once had one.

Unfortunately, I didn’t win anything, but the Charger and the Barracuda on each side of me left with trophies. The owners of both said I was robbed. :( - Mike

Mike, sorry I missed your trip to West Milford. Just a question, though. Why do you show with the top up?

Hi Rich. Good question. The judges at this particular show, sponsored by the Vintage Automobile Club of Ocean County, ask all convertible owners to put their tops up if they wanted to be considered for judging. They did the same thing last year. I’ve been to other shows where it didn’t matter. - Mike

Mike, you got parked between the wrong cars. Should have been parked around cars with a little CLASS, not muscle. Guess that judges salivate over V8's, in cars from a different era. We have beautiful LITTLE cars that can pass a gas station without empting the wallet.
The LeBaron models dressed up the basic K Car in a stylish way, it did not look gawdy as so many Chrysler products did, and the new ones still do in my opinion. (further details not suitable for the forum).

Some day we wil get the respect we deserve, in the meantime I will still love and take care of my little 82 Lebaron Convertible as you have so beautifully restored yours.
