winter storage pictures

Postby 88 aries » Tue Dec 28, 2010 12:28 am

I was looking at the pictures that I took this summer, and I miss my lil K's so I decided to take some storage shots of them, the first set of pics is my 86 Reliant

little bit of photoshop as the white balance on the photos was incorrectly set Image

every tid bit detailed, I spent 4 hours on the alt cleaning it up and refinishing it new battery as well Image

A big thanks to farmertom for helping me out with these rare hubcaps that can not be found on civilian 86 Reliant/Aries Image

Interior shot, thats my mug in the photo Image

steering wheel Image

almost impossible to find original floor mats, these are from my 85 which only has 56,000 miles Image

found this under the backseat original paper work!!!!Image

Reproduction keys, spent 5.00 for the trunk blank, and 2.50 for the black headed ignition key. even found an original key ring tag from an 89 reliant Image

and heres the underbody, just as nice as the rest of them Image

the very little parts were hand painted, such as the alternator, which I had to take off.

this is truely and art form some people say.

Not only is the car clean, but it looks like you take your shoes off when going in the garage
Keep up the good work.

I dont think Chrysler made them that clean when new....
Mass production and all...

Job 1 at Chrysler was a bit hastier than that.
Who woulddaa thunk a K car could be that clean?
I dont think even Iacocca could have figured on that.

Very nice. I especially like the clean chassis.

When you say the wheelcovers were not on a "civilian" 86 what do you mean? I know I've seen them before on several K-cars. Were they typically used on the govenment issue cars? I think all the local postal vehicles in my area were issued K car wagons at one time - maybe those vehicles used that wheelcover design if they had 14" wheels?

The wheelcovers are E-body covers.
Meant for higher "classed",more expensive models.
They look very classy.

this was a govenment car purchased for medical use in south eastern wisconsin, the original title was dated in 89 at 59,000 miles, it is a government car, note the bumper guards and small door protectors, and the bucket seats.

lol and yes butch I prolly would be rich, for this kind of work I do charge about 150.00 for extensive detailing

Yes, my 83 E-Class had them, red to match the car. And they looked/look pretty sharp.
