where is everyone?

Postby 88 aries » Tue May 03, 2011 4:12 pm

Alright, now im going to be honest. For one why do people read posts and never post on anything? are you drifters that dont care about a club? because this doesnt seem like a forum club anymore, like it was. no one talks cars anymore all I hear are these rants about the attack of buick century's. if were going to talk about centurys why not have a GM portion of the forum!!!!!!!!!!! and all of the spam... that is getting annoying in a hurry. All in all the forum has gone to the dogs... the layout sucks.. the main page hasnt been updated with the new one yet... and I like how our announcement page is full of crap that we could careless about. is this forum just an outlet to someones loneliness?

SO IN CONCLIUSION... This Forum is so F'ed up and unorganized...

Yes, tell us something new.

As for where everyone is - There is a natural dramatic falloff of posting on all the small car club forums when Spring comes as people start working on their antique cars and going to events instead of spending their time on the Internet.

If anybody is in the Washington DC area the European Embassies are having open house on Saturday and the Czech Embassy is having a display featuring Tatra cars.

If anyone is in the New York state area, there is a very good car show/fleamarket this weekend in Rhinebeck NY.

Saturday - mostly Hot Rods; Sunday unmodified antique and classic cars up to 1986.

We are all a bit frustrated with the lack of maintainability of this server. If anyone has the computer skills to improve things, talk to Guy.

By the way, what is so wrong about posting about attack of Centuries. It was a rare sporadic sighting and many of us like OTHER cars.

My view on the Centuries was when I saw the heading I thought you saw a bunch of the cool 1980 1981 Centuries or the original A-bodies, but it was the common 82-96 ones so I quickly lost interest.

If you're trying to make the forum better, how about starting with deleting all the stupid spam all over? That takes no time to and would clean the place up dramatically. If you can't take time to do it, give someone else the power to do it and let them do the work. I'd be more than happy to spend the 10 min it would take cleaning up the spam.

Another thing is that there are so many forums and sub forums on this site that it's hard to figure out where to post what. Personally I think we should re-format it to something more user friendly. Maybe something like:

First Grouping:

Welcome/New Member intro (Obvious)

Events with two subforms, Upcoming and Past

Local Chapters of K-Car Club
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second Grouping:

Members Rides (For Showing off pictures/stats for your car, basically a profile)

Daily Updates (Day to day things, updates on your car, K car Spottings ETC)

Technical Support (Repair advice, troubleshooting ETC)

Transactions Section with two subforums: Members (Members for sale and wanted) and Third Party (Craigslist, Ebay ETC)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Third Grouping:

Off Topic: Everything else
