88 Reliant now no start

Postby rp23g7 » Thu May 05, 2011 12:00 am

Hey guys, its me again.
I was checking the vss sender on my 2.5 and thought I founf the issue, melted wires. So replaced the sensor and the wire harness, checked codes no more VSS, Part throttle code. Took it for a drive all was well.

Let it sit for a bit, came out to go to the store, would not start, it cranked.

Thought it may be the timing belt, took the plug out of the hole and marked the sprocket, nope sprocket is turning.

Thought it may be the fuel pump, took air filter off, smelled gas, sprayed starting fluid in, tried starting, just cranked. So I am guessing its not getting a spark.

I had to leave and haven't checked for spark at the coil, but reading some things, does the HAS control the coil spark? If its bad will the coil not spark, or does the HAS control the spark to the individual plug wires? I will be back home later to check more things
