Butch, please chime in. After the engine was rebuilt less than 8 months ago for $2500 and the trunk rebuilt after the car was totalled in an accident for $3300, the car is having PROBLEMS
again. The engine isn't just running rough now. It is seriously underpowered and is lugging so bad at idle that the fuel gauge needle bounces up and down, the dash shakes. rattles, and roll, and it gets worse
when I put on the brake. The engine is burning 2 quarts of oil every 500 miles. 16 mpg. Blue and black smoke billow out of the car when being initially started. It also bogs down and tries to stall out until warmed up. The rythmic lugging at idle becomes like a "whop, whop, whop, whop"when going 65. I won't force it over 70 anymore. The suspension is completely shot. One can push the car up and down. Everytime I sit in it and make turns, I hear, feel serious loud squeaky metallic creaks and noises. Butch, can you fix the car?
