In Sylmar, California, the northern windy part of San Fernando Valley, it is both warmer and cooler than the rest of the valley, depending on the season, due to the wind. This has been the nicest, warmest December in perhaps 10 years. We had 4 straight days between 80-85 F just last week, a week straight of 53-65 degree morning lows, and all this happens in Sylmar when the wind starts blowing. Also, everytime I come home from work, unlike chilly Woodland Hills, it is noticeably 5-7 degrees warmer, crystal clear skies, and nice wind. I love weather. Case in point, Sylmar 1,200 feet, hits 100F. How come Western Massachusetts at 700-1000 feet has NEVER made 100, but Boston has made 104. I bet the weather scientists are baffled.
