is it really january

Postby 88 aries » Fri Jan 06, 2012 6:35 am

52 degrees in january is unheard of in wisconsin, what a perfect day it was for some cold starts, the 81 fired right up after sitting for 2 months, it seemed to have a little trouble keeping the idle steady, but after a while it smoothed out. And of course with the 86 being fuel injected, that was an easy start as always. Now if only we had 60 degree weather :D

It has been unseasonably warm also in Southern California, 75- 80 F degrees since Christmas. It's usually 56F degrees and rainy by now.
It's great you got the cars running in the middle of winter. :D

It's been running in the high 50s into low 60s here for several days now here in Northern California. I think it is supposed to get up to 66 either today or tomorrow. Unfortunately, this weather is a lot like we get when a drought year sets in, so while the weather is great, it could be setting us up for problems later with our water supplies.

I'm in northern IN, about 95 miles straight east of Chicago, 53 yesterday and upper 40's today! I was outside in the driveway changing oil in the van with just a flannel shirt on, I'll take it, you don't know when the other shoe is going to drop!!!!!!!!!

Its been sunny and dry in Pullman, but not too warm. Still took the opportunity to start the Reliant and drive it a little.

I agree with Baron about the problem this is going to create with water supplies here in the Western states.

In Sylmar, California, the northern windy part of San Fernando Valley, it is both warmer and cooler than the rest of the valley, depending on the season, due to the wind. This has been the nicest, warmest December in perhaps 10 years. We had 4 straight days between 80-85 F just last week, a week straight of 53-65 degree morning lows, and all this happens in Sylmar when the wind starts blowing. Also, everytime I come home from work, unlike chilly Woodland Hills, it is noticeably 5-7 degrees warmer, crystal clear skies, and nice wind. I love weather. Case in point, Sylmar 1,200 feet, hits 100F. How come Western Massachusetts at 700-1000 feet has NEVER made 100, but Boston has made 104. I bet the weather scientists are baffled. :D

We had the warm weather too here in eastern PA but....it is really January....we're getting 3-6 inches of snow. Good thing I got new tires.
