I know I have not posted in some time, mostly because I was unable to buy that old 1986 it was already sold while I was waiting on money from the bank. Oh well. I do have some great news for everyone...I was able to find a true classic K car. It is a 1982 Chrysler Lebaron Coupe with only 67K miles on her. Here is the beautiful part. I pick her up from my cousins house in Dallas this week and I purchased the car today. Granted it was 8 hours from where I live but I think I got a steal now that I think about it.

Welcome back. You did get it for a steal. There are only 100 left in the USA, and the last one in Los Angeles
will be at our show this Sunday. Please, pictures, please, so I can show George Nerrie with the immaculate 147,000 mile 82 Coupe with sunroof of Hollywood, Ca. :D :D

I posted a couple pictures from the previous owner on the owners rides link. When I get the car I plan on taking a whole lot of pictures especially during my trip from Texas to Virginia.

Thanks Chief,

Glad to be back actually. I am so waiting to see how I do on this trip. I have never done a drive this long before. Also is the Mitsu 2.6 any good at all??

I can honestly tell you that I was with a club member today that bought his LeBaron coupe brand new with the 2.6 Mitsu engine and he now has well over 100K miles on his car and loves his car. He even told me that the reason he has never sold it is that he wants to be sure when that day comes, it will go to a good home. I also know a mechanic friend that won't venture to work on them, so I think that it must be just a matter of opinion. Both parties seem to agree on one thing, if you have someone who understands the engine, then that person, or mechanic, is a rare jewel! ;)

Chief,

I was wondering as I have been thinking, I don't know anything about the 2.6 Mitsu engine and I know the 2.5 TBI pretty well. I was thinking of doing a engine/tranny swap. I don't know if it would be worth it though.

If I was going to do a swap, I'd go with the 2.5 or the 2.2 Turbo, which are both very strong and very reliable engines. Plus you will enjoy the extra power.

Okay I think I am going to save up and do a complete Swap from 2.6L to 2.5L. I would think dropping a original 2.0 Neon engine would work but I am not to sure if it could be done.

Id go with a 2.2 carb just because its easier and the wiring is all there. or you can carb a 2.5, just use the intake off of a carb 2.2
