I'm glad I stumbled across this forum. I have been restoring and customizing cars since 1965 and have owned about 53 vehicles. I currently have a full show 1993 Cadillac Allante, Northstar and last year sold my Shelby "Eleanor" that I put together from the movie "Gone in 60 seconds." But the weirdest thing is that, I always dug the K-Cars, which there is no rhyme or reason for!
So about seven years ago I found a 1989 Plymouth Reliant K LE, 2.5, that had been sitting outside and burning up in the desert for about 12 or more years. But, besides being fried in and out, it only had 14K miles on it, and was an original owner car. I spent a couple of years restoring it, updating critical areas, and adding some custom touches. I even took pictures of the 1955 Chrysler wire wheels and had a set custom built in a FWD application, including the knock offs, plus the Cadillac Vogue Tyres...Custom paint, new interior, custom top, etc., etc. I spent major $$$, but I really didn't care, because I was building it to be my wife's daily driver.
It now has 50K miles on it, and she loves it, and that's all that really counts!
