Need a tune up?

My 88 5 peed Aries wants to choke down on me when I come to a stop.I usually put it in second and let it roll start itself.I assume a tune up along with maybe a fresh fuel filter will solve this.Am I possibly missing something else?
Also,my car sits low in the rear. The previous owner had a trailer hitch installed.Shoul I look for new springs or give in to my tacky side and get the air shocks?
Thanks JT

Possibly your rear shocks are just wore out, and maybe new shocks would help alleviaate the low rear-end??

Get new rr springs, do a tune up and clean the T/body with T/Body cleaner ONLY. A dirty T/body will lower the idle spd. Check for codes also.

Thanks for the replies guys.I just noticed yesterday that there is oil leaking from my right rear shock.I'm sure a new{er} set of rear springs would help the sag.
I've just wanted to have another ride with air shocks since the set I had on a 65 Fairlane 20 years ago.I love being able to go from stock to the 70s style stink bug stance at will.Although,I know the ride quality will suffer with the air shocks.By the way, what would be the best { economical } way to get the front end down about 2" ? I figure that's about the max I could lower it without oil pan concern.
Oh yeah, whay do you use for throttle body cleaner? Back at the VW/Audi shop I worked at we used carb/FI cleaner.

You can cut a coil or too to lower the frt end. Barryman is a good cleaner to use for the T/body. if ( and I mean if ) you can get air shocks you wouldn't need new springs.

Hey yall.Far as air shocks go the Advance and the OReilly Auto sites show listings for Monroe brand units that are supposed to fit my 88.Unless that is a generic "Universal" fit that they just throw up there for all makes/models.
