My wife and I just bought a new house so i now have a heated, air conditioned detached 2 1/2 car garage. I have the cam, ported and polished shelby intake, and aluminum crank pulley. Just waiting on the header, carb, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, and the supercharger and I should have all of those in the next month. then we will have the first 10 second 83 Aries.

So what trans you gonna use and what mods to it ? And speaking of pistons..... May I recommend my buddy Chris Wright Of TurbosUnleashed for go fast goodies.

took a look at turbosunleashed.com and all he has are forged pistons. $465 is a bit steep when I can get hyperutes from summit for less than $200. thanks for the info, though. I did look at his exhaust stuff and there's some possibilities there. Probably go stock 4 speed manual for as long as it holds up, then have it built to handle 350 hp.
Definitly need to move the battery to the trunk so I can use the smog pump pulley to drive the blower (gotta keep the AC).

smog pump? I thought superchargers ran off the crankshaft pully, as seen on a 84 shelbycharger. definately take a look at the vid on youtube

Gotta have the forged pistons if you expect the motor to live. Cheap pistons are just that. Unless the blower is just for show.

butch is right, if you buy some cheap mofo's you might as well expect to rebuild the motor at some point, now if you do it like davidsfarm did, he has forged pistion's and shopined rods

Definitely not for show. after some research, definitely gonna go forged and H rods. I can get a matched set for about 700. I can get away with running the blower off the cam because the blower is for a Pontiac 3800. significantly oversized for a 2.2 so i don't have to spin the hell out of it to get the boost i need. may have to go injection. don't think i can clear a carb and i won't cut up my hood. I'm even keeping the hubcaps.
