This is my new car I bought from craigslist for $700.

It's a 1986 Aries se it has 63k miles and has been sitting for 3 years . Its only major flaw is the owner had someone re clear coat it and they screwed it up it up but besides that the car is in awesome shape. The engine started first crank after purging the stale gas from the lines and when we drove it you couldn't even feel it change gears ( something I'm not used to, having ford Tauruses as my other car passion lol) it has 2 small dents and no rust anywhere except the bottom of the oil pan. The woman I'm buying it from got it with 29k and has taken good care of it. She had a new brake system, new exhaust, new front axles, and a new headliner put in and even had the trunk re carpeted. It has had regular oil changes, transmission services, and radiator flushes.

From what I know of paints, you can not re-clear coat a car.You have to do both stages again, so someone didn't know what they were doing.

well so far i've got it on the road and gotten it named we now call it kevin bacon (not my idea).

turned out the original paint is in great condition under that flaking stuff (clear coat and all)

only major issue atm is my drivers door the hinge welds have been broken so the door rubs the trim. only engine problems so far are due to dirty connectors. and even with the engine not running its best and crappy tires ( getting that resolved in morning) im getting about 30.6 mpg so i'm happy.

well still chugging along with things as of now all fuel lines and vac lines i can access are changed, last Tuesday I fixed the ac system, every connector in the car has been cleaned and re-greased , I've done a second oil change as the first one lasted 2 weeks till it was as brown and thick as the old oil, I have shampooed my carpets found my original mats tucked under the bench and sewn some rips in my carpet back, put a new rotor, cap, wires, plugs in which solved alot of my uneasy idle issues. only things left to do to car are to find source of small exhaust leak, get a radio, and figure out why I still get a code 24 even with a new tps . been driving the car as a daily and I'm very happy with it will get some better more up to date pics and video of it pretty soon.
