My 1988 Plymouth Reliant LE

The day I bought it

1988 Reliant LE 110,000 miles. Other than a needing a paint job (which is happening soon) this car is perfect. Origional A/C even still works. It's a daily driver. I bought it about a year ago because my 60 mile commute to work was killing me on gas with my Dodge Ram HEMI and . I wasn't looking for a Kcar but when I saw this one I had to have it. I've had 2 Lebaron convertibles and my parents owned Kcars years ago and we loved all of them. I absolutly love this car and would trust it to drive anywhere. Here in the next few months I hope to have it painted and put on some custom wheels. My favorite thing about this car is that it was made the year I was born. '88.

Nice looking car. You should get many years of service out of that one.

Nice find, especially with only 110k on it. My mom always wanted a K-Car. I told her that her '91 Plymouth Acclaim was almost a K-Car. It was based on it and had the reliable 2.5. It had a little over 300,000 miles on it when my parents sold it. The only thing wrong at the time was a blown head gasket (first time ever in all those miles) and she just wanted a new car. Does yours have the 2.2 2.5 or 2.6?

88s have 2.2 or 2.5 engines only. The 2.6 import engine was gone by the time 1986 rolled around.Minivans suffered with it until the end of 1987.

Ah, didn't know that. The mitsu 2.6 was a 'rough' engine.
