1982 Dodge 400 Convertible (Update)

Postby chadfletch17 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 11:03 pm

Hey My name is Chad and this is my 82 Dodge 400.
The car sat in the hot AZ sun for like 10 years until we came around to save it.
At the time it wasn't running, the canvas top was rotted, the interior was covered in dirt, and all four tires were flat.
It was given to me because the people who owned it didn't see any potential in it, and just wanted it out of their yard.
After some hard work and a few paychecks this little 400 runs great and gets everybody's attention when i drop the top.

Work that I have put into it:
Rebuilt Carb
cv joints
rotors and shoes
rack and pinion
tires
Battery
new leather
new canvas top
new carpet
power steering
complete tune up

In the near Future:
New paint
font/back speakers
deck
front struts
window tint
hood lock
remote/alarm

Let me know what you guys think...
Ill take some pics of the new interior and top soon!

Hello, I wonder if anyone can confirm that my steering rack is bad. My 82 lebaron wonders to the right. I raised the front and found that there is play in the rack only on the drivers side. If I grab the tire and force to rotate it, passenger side is tight with no play to the steering wheel but driverside has about 1/2" movement within the rack which I measured at the rod coming out of the rack. I always thought a bad rack involved both sides or malfunctions with the power steering. Thanks....

what do those stickers say? It looks nice being white and red. Mine is brown and saddle which to me is a little drab. I need to post some pictures since it is in remarkably good condtion considering it's age. I installed a new top which was not differicult. Payed peanuts from Ebay. Keep an eye out there since their are no buyers for must items on these cars.

Those were magnets on the back, I was being paid to drive around with them on the 400.
