Very rough Idle

Postby zeekjimk » Sun Aug 05, 2012 1:24 am

My 1986 LeBaron 2.2 turbo has been redone from top to bottom after sitting for about 12 years. New fuel tank & pump, wires, plugs, computer, all of the updates we can track down, along with new modules and throtle body. The car starts fine, but idles very rough, shaking the dash, rear view mirror, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks; Jim

Did you check to make sure the wires are not crossed??
Make sure the wires are inthe disributor cap all the way to make contact with the rotor button.
Check the vacuum on he engine and if it is low,you have a vacuum leak.Check all vacuum lines including the brake booster.
Keep in mind also since it sat for a long timwe, maybee a good run may help clean out the cobwebs.
Fresh 91 octane gas with no ethanol in it will clean the injectors which may have been gummed up from sitting.
Hope this helps.
