86 LeBaron 2.5L nonturbo no spark and no fuel.

Postby bob2692005 » Mon May 27, 2013 2:20 am

I was driving this car for quite a few months. and one night it just stopped running. I checked the spark with a screw driver and another spark plug nothing. I checked it from the coil and nothing. I started there. I changed the coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, Ignition Control Computer. Still nothing. I even replaced the ICC again just to make sure. I called a dealer and they told me that sometimes the ICC isn't programmed from the store (Advance Auto). I just don't have the extra $120.00 lying around. I thought it might be the safety relay, but that's on the ICC. I want to give this car to my son but I can't do that if it's not working.
Any help would be nice.
Thank you in advance.

I'll check it in a few days, when I get a handle on studying. (student nurse)

I recently had a similar issue with my 87 600SE.

I was driving down the highway when the car just stopped running and I had to have it towed home. I had a code 26 that pointed to the fuel injector not getting the proper voltage.

Not sure if the NYorker is similar but the 600SE power module controls the output to the alternator, coil, fuel pump in tank, and fuel injector. Since the power module usually fails due to some other component issue, I ended up replacing the fuel injector, alternators, and ignition coil.

The car now runs fine. You can start by replacing the power module (or similar component on your vehicle). Just remember the failure was most likely caused by one of the components associate with the power module and may results in another power module failure if it isn't also fixed.
