1987 Dodoge 600SE pax side mirror

Anyone have any info on side view mirrors?

The mirror is still attached but the mirror has loosened and will not stay in position. I tried looking behind the mirror and it seems it is attached with metal strips, not sure. Perhaps one of the strips as broken.

Couldn't find any info on the web or repair book I have other than taking the entire assembly off and replacing. Anyone have a cure for this droopy mirror?

Can any one shed some light as to how this mirror is attached and how to remove the mirror for repairs?

My temp fix is a stip of thick tape on the bottom between the mirror and case which wedges the mirror back into place.

The mirror is fine. What attaches the mirror to the case behind the mirror is the issue. Something has broken loose and the mirror will not maintain its position.
