1985 Chrysler Lebaron Turbo Idling Problem

When I turn the engine on my Lebaron Turbo starts idling higher almost as if it wants to accelerate faster.

What is causing that?

It seems like when I turn the air conditioner on that is when the engine starts to idle faster.

Any comments appreciated.

Hi,

If the only time the idle speed increases is when you turn on the A/C, that is normal. The A/C is quite an additional load on the engine and the idle speed gets bumped up by design to compensate for the load so the engine doesn't stall. If the idle speed increases with the A/C off there is another issue and you should do the key dance routine and look for error codes.
