Acclaim issue

Postby imperialguy2002 » Mon Oct 06, 2014 11:56 pm

Hello All!

Thanks for accepting me into the group! I have just acquired a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5 auto.. It is really nice and I am already familiar with Chryslers, as I do have a 1992 imperial, and a 93 as well. But this is an older unit with the 3 speed auto. My question is; the car jerks or shudders right about the time the torque converter goes into lock up mode. Is there a simple fix for this? I am already getting ready to do a fluid filter change. It cant hurt! I got this car from mother in law and I would love to get it right and drive it. It has been sitting a long, long time. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

The fluid and filter change won't hurt that's for sure if it's been sitting for some time...If it's still acting up...there's really no simple cure..It'll need an over haul or salvage swap...Wished I had better news...
