Lebaron Blinkers will not work

Postby AKmoparguy » Tue Oct 07, 2014 12:12 am

My '90 lebaron's blinkers starting acting erratic today. They would blink normally then they would slow down very slow and then return to normal. Eventually they just stopped working completely, and now they will not work anymore. I don't know why this happened, but that is why I am asking you guys. Any help would be appreciated.

AK make sure all bulbs are good...If so...check under the drivers side for your fuse panel, and swap out your flasher relay..Here's the part here...

I've also used 552's in their place if you can't get the exact replacement

I shall check the grounds. I tried to find the relay, but it is not on the relay board by the fuse box.

On 1990-92 Daytona and LeBaron, a relay bank is located on the left side kick panel. The Power Distribution Center, which contains additional relays and fuses, is located in the engine compartment behind the battery. Each item is identified on the cover. Also, the 88-90 Lebaron's experienced issues with the turn signal switch itself.Check the relays and grounds first. If those check good go to the switch itself.Hope that helps some on it.

It's been a while since I posted this, but I guess I should put a final post up to show that I solved the issue. It was the relay. It took a unnecessarily long time to locate the relay. For some reason the turn signal relay is not on the relay board, and instead placed up behind the fuse box. The original relay has a special peg on top that then was attached to a little metal bracket that was fixed to a air duct. I ended up bending the little metal bracket it was on, and ripping most of the relay out. There is still a piece of the peg attached to the bracket. Ended up taping the new relay to the bracket. I hated bending the little bracket like that, but until I can pull the entire dash apart I don't a better job could be accomplished. Maybe I can find a relay just like the original that will fit perfectly. Honestly I have no idea why that relay is not on the board like the others. At least I have turn signals now.
