Replaced Coolant Temp Sensor, Now Car Thinks It's Overheatin

Postby GrammaCar » Fri May 15, 2015 5:34 pm

Hey, guys.

So I got a Power Loss light on the way to work today. I checked the codes and got "22", which for my car is a bad Coolant Temp Sensor. I replaced that, and now the Engine light is on. When I start to drive my car it says it's overheating. But it's not. What's the deal?

Do you guys think the new Coolant Temp Sensor is bad? Or is it some kind of bad connection or something?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's entirely possible that it's the wrong part. I got it at Oriley's, and I'm sure they could have it listed wrong in their index.

I'll see if I can figure out how to test the resistance. I can at least test the connections of the wires.

You know, now that I'm thinking about it, the part does look a little different. The nut and threads and knob for the connector are about the same, but the sensor part is much smaller. Do you think that's an indication?
