Hi
Try here: http://www.cardone.com/find-parts/vehic ... &year=1986

They show part numbers for both the Logic and the Power modules, call them and see what the deal is perhaps yours can be rebuilt.

You need to be persistent as none of this stuff is that easy to get anymore......

ok....The paper tag is hard to read but it looks like 5227 316. On the vacuum cover there is 5227 323...34616...854oc. I found a new old stock 5227 318. Says it's for this car. What's your thought?

Hi
Don't mean to be a party pooper here BUT I personally treat NOS electronic stuff with a touch of caution , considering it came from an old dealers' inventory ...it could have been a module ordered and simply kept in stock and never used (good) or a "Tester" a module used by the dealer shop techs as a quick replacement to help diagnose a problem that simply sat on the shelf until needed (maybe good) or a warranty return (bad) that was never returned to the depot for a credit (used to happen a lot )
Aside from that, I couldn't find 5227316 in my '86 parts book at all but it shows p/n 5227 318 as fitting K-E-G-H bodies with 2.5 Eng. T.B.I. w/Auto. Trans. Up to build date of 10-20-85 (Check your build date on the drivers door VIN tag) .
5227 452 is shown as Aft. 10-20-85.....
The printed parts tags are sometimes hard to read...the 316 could easily be 318 . Aside from my initial misgivings I am surprised that you located an NOS logic module so quickly...well done!

Well I bought the NOS module at a bargain price. It was made 9/86. The door sticker on my car only gives the month and year 10/86. The paper tag shows 10/04/86. And the last 3 large digits are 316 for sure. When it gets here I'll put it in along with the TPS and we'll see! Question.....why is there a vacuum line going to the module? From what I see it will have to be put on the new one as it has tape over that opening. Thanks for the help here.

HI
That vacuum line is for the MAP sensor... on 1985 through 1987 the MAP sensor was mounted on the Logic module. Good luck with that module let me know how it works...

Quick check on the system function, when you unplug the two wire temperature sender as you do when checking the timing, the fan should immediately come on. Loss of temperature signal causes the fan to run as a safety device preventing overheating. If your car has had the MAP sensor relocation done, I believe I have a 1987 2.5L Logic module I removed from a Reliant we were scrapping.
