I'm just about finished restoring my 1987 Dodge 600SE, with the exception of minor cosmetic items.
I finally got motivated and fixed my cruise control myself after being quoted four hours diagnostic charge to start the process. It ended up being a simple fix by only having to reposition the brake switch. The vibration from the brake pedal was contacting the brake switch signaling the cruise control to disconnect. I could have had cruise control for the past seven years.......
Now I have an error code 44 on my 1987 Dodge 600 SE, 2.5L I noticed my charge gauge was higher than normal so I did the three key switch thing and got the error code 44. This appears to be the battery overheat sensor on the PCM. The car runs fine and I understand the charge has now been set at a constant 14 volts. I also believe I can re-solder the sensor on the PCM (if I new which one it was) but does this indicate the PCM is about to fail altogether?
Since this didn't set the "check engine" light I suppose I can just keep an eye on it and not bother with it.
Any sites anyone know of that sells reconditioned PCM?
Thanks
