Finally got a job after a year of unemployment

Postby Butch » Sat Sep 26, 2009 7:35 pm

My new employer said I was over qauilified because I speak english. Took my toolbox in this morning, they specialize in European cars. Working 6 days a week on salary. Gonna be nice having extra cash again, the Harley needs a new paint job.

Congratulations, it must be a big relief to know you have a paycheque coming in again.
I hope you "over qualification" doesn't leave you working with a bunch dopes that don't know what they are doing.

If nothing came up, I was going to suggest you throw the tools in your trunk and go on a road trip around the country and do all our repairs in exchange for room and board, plus a tip to get you on to the next club member in need of a repair.

Gosh, and you know the decision to junk a K is always based on repairs. A lot of people come here for help and we try the best
we can to help them. But, as Butch said, its hard to fix a car over the telephone. I know of someone in the club that cracked his head
from overheating his car, ran into a couch with it, and still insists on driving it.

Being their European cars I'll be the dope that don't know what he's doing. Other than the old VW Bugs I have no experence with them, but bolts all loosen the same way. I did the mobil mechanic thing on and off for 24 yrs now. At one time, my business office was the local bar. I do have a minivan set up for the mobil thing but couldn't afford to keep it on the road. I'll put it back on the road soon and prolly delivery Xmas trees with it in December ( easy money ).

I don't know Butch, only American cars break down, you may have a lot of free time.
Good luck with your new job. I will see you Thursday night.

"CONGRATULATIONS!!!" Butch that is the very best possible news that could have come your way and I am extremely happy for you. You are truly one of the 'good guys' and I was hoping that you'd catch a break real soon. You know that if I'm feeling up to it I will definitely be at Applebee's on Thursday, I hope to see you then!
