WTB: 1984-87 AIS motors

Postby marty mopar » Thu Sep 15, 2011 9:41 pm

The AIS motor is in the throttle body on turbo engines and about 4 inches long. It was used on all Turbo 1 motors 1984-87. There are two types: one has a built in plug on the back and the other has 2 wires connected to the back. They can be tested by hooking up the wiring to a battery to see if it runs. Either style is fine.

Anybody have them that run without noise (squealing, etc.)?

I have a 2 wire connected to the back (I have an 85 dodge 600 2.2L TBI turbo) do you know where I can buy a replacement AIS? My car has sporadic high RMP when I start it & when I drive it accelerates itself, ex: at a red light when I have my foot on the brake it will accelerate itself. This is a daily problem. Any suggestions? I read that it be tested my hooking it up to a battery & see if it runs - can you give me more detail? I'm not positive it's the AIS so if like to test it.
