WTB: Woodgrain moldings for early Reliant/Aries wagon

Postby TWHansen » Mon Mar 11, 2013 7:19 am

Just picked up an '84 Reliant wagon from a fellow board member in Beloit; it was missing the trim around the woodgrain on both sides of the car when he got it.

It will never be a museum piece, we just want some serviceable trim to cover up the metal nubs up and down each side of the car. Has anyone seen an early woody Reliant or Aries wagon for parts lately?

my suggestion:

go to any Mopar dealer

get ALL the part numbers and any part number supersession

have them run the numbers on their locator

then run them on www.partsvoice.com

that's all I have of the moldings on the side

It'd be a shame to burn up NOS parts on this car. I'm hoping to come into a scruffy used set for $50ish...

Justin will know what it's called for sure, but I believe it was CL Chase that he said had a few of them there.

Btw, how is your friend liking that car?

Well, the exhaust shop I usually go to quoted $500 since they legally can't do a system without a cat (the cat's missing), so it's still loud as hell and drives poorly. I'm attempting to find someone of a more shadetree variety to get the exhaust done cheap...

Too bad you couldn't have gotten it done before you left. My buddies down here do a great job and can do it cheap... like $100-150 or so.

We found somebody for the exhaust for $300. It still runs a little weird and the power steering pump feels/sounds a little loose. Other than that, no problems so far.

Traded it off over the summer for a moped and $600 cash. Seemed like it ran better in warm weather.
