I'll move my questions to the mechanics corner......lol, but first, I did try the cap, rotor and checked out the "ignition control module"? Confused on what its called because the only thing I've been read is hall effect sensor, any way, i took it in and it was fine. Everything in back in place and the car still cranks but won't start.

If I can't find a simple solution, I think I'll just put it up for sale as I originally was going to do. That or part it out. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me, or just post here. I like the car, and wish I had more resources to keep it. Please don't make me call "Spauldings" our local pull and save, or "junk yard....lol, I know somebody would love it and give it a good home.

Hmm.......when you first put the key in to the ignition, and turn the key right before it starts (or tries to) do you hear a slight buzzing noise (fuel pump), you should hear the fuel pump buzz/hum whatever ya want to call it for a few seconds right when you turn the key all the way to start the car.

If no buzz/hum it could be a dead fuel pump.
Ah hell, yours is a 1983 and it is probably carb'd and not fuel injection and I am not sure if yours has a fuel pump or not??

My timing belt for my 2.5 and a new water pump cost me $268 total last summer. that was installed by a mechanic.

I have a 1983 dodge 600 with a 2.6 liter engine. First I have had your similar problem. Replacing the fuel system and ignition was relativly cheap. I bought a brand new carb for around 150$ I replaced the distributor for around 50$ and then plugs, wires, and vacuum hoses. It was all pretty easy to do and I did it myself. I took it in for the timing adjustment. It runs fine and I drive it everyday.
Second. I have had a recent issue that I am trying to pinpoint. My heater blower has stopped working and I have checked the fuses. They are still good. Has anyone heard of other solutions or is the blower motor done for?
Thanks
