Wood grain stickering and paint for '86 Town & Country

Postby fistfullofcats » Fri Dec 03, 2010 5:22 pm

Hello, I'm now to the forum / k car lifestyle. I've got an 86 T&C that is in great shape, but I've never had to maintain the appearance on a classic car before. Any online suggestions on where to get replacement wood grain stickering for the outside? What about real deal yellow/blond touch-up paint?

The di-noc (sticky woodgrain) you can sometimes find on eBay (Automotive Parts-Woodgrain). It comes and goes, so you have to check often. 3-M does not make that pattern (Marine Teak) anymore, but there are people who have hoarded quantities of it so you have to be persistant in your search. You can also search under Di-Noc and comb through the sights until you find those "hoarders". Metro Styling.com has a replacment "Marine Teak" that looks close to the original. Jeep Cherokee also used this pattern, so you can check-out Jeep sights.
As for the blond "Ash" planks you will have to custom mix your color. The finish has to have a mat or satin, not glossy finish. Also you put a medium brown wash in the grain and wipe off. this will give it that final factory look. Good luck. It will all be worth it when you see the final results.
