Mine was an 89- bad tranny AND bad engine. Transmission had to be rebuilt before 60,000 miles and the valves/heads had to be replaced in the engine before 70,000 miles. Fortunately, most of it was still covered by warranty, although it still cost several hundred dollars each time for the miscellaneous parts not covered by warranty plus the inconvenience, etc. of having the car break down and have to sit in the garage for a few days for major work to be done. Still surprised whenever I see one on the road- and there is no getting around the fact that you do rarely- very rarely- ever see one.
I'd be more than happy to run the 'risk' of owning my 2-6 engine E-class again over any Dynasty anytime. Not even a contest.
