PINKS

Postby esser_89 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 4:52 am

last night i was watching pinks on speed tv and they had a mustang on there that stangbangers.com built and i got to thinking.....maybe the k-car club could find a turbo k car and we coyuld get sponsors and build it up for a show like pinks or something like that. show the world what a turbo k car can do. i mean i have a twin turbo minivan that i built and i .....street race with. and that van can beat alot of cars out there. so i think if we decided to build say like a lebaron turbo or something like that up we would be recognized greatly......it would also be a fun experience.......i could get sponsors and cheap parts.......whats everyones ideas on this?

Oh man... first time I saw videos of that car I freaked out. That is amazing.
On YouTube, I have all the videos of this car on a playlist.

actually....for most of its racing career it was running a 2.5 turbo motor. the 2.2 was short lived. i have seen the car in person (7 years ago). gary donovan still has his website up thedodgegarage.com, but rarely updates anything as other matters keep him away from the turbo dodge world most of the time. still a great place to start when researching upgrades for a k based vehicle. relentless shows that racing is as much about weight and setup as it is about raw power. still, you can ultimately get more power out of a v8 car than a turbo 4.....but still a good show up to the import crowd (unless facing a big budget 1000hp toyota supra)

Gary is back! I saw that he'll be at Cecil County Dragway...I think April 25th. I believe he is currently working on "Relentless" his Reliant. Don't know if it'll be there. I still remember seeing run I think a 10.? at 136 mph at Cecil.

I wish someone knew the whereabouts of Stephane Beauregard's 1987 Charger I helped him rebuild his transmissions after an 8.01 run at Englishtown.
