1982-83 Radio

PostAuthor: mona's k » Tue May 02, 2017 11:12 pm

1982 Lebaron

Factory radio (AM/FM/Cass.) gave up the ghost. 2nd radio (AM/FM) is dying. Bought a silver faced radio seller said would fit but it is 1984 and up and won't plug in. I know I can rewire stuff to make an '84 and up radio work but looking to avoid that.

Question- Will a radio from ANY 1982-83 MOPAR (Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth/Dodge Truck) work? Or does it need to be from a K-Car based model? Thinking of putting a wanted ad on craigslist and it would be easier to say any 1982-83 MOPAR make/model instead of trying to list each make/model that would have a radio that fits.

Hi
In answer to your question ...yes any 1982-83 Chrysler factory radio will fit ....I have one in my Reliant that came out of a New Yorker.
I've been able to repair these radios with capacitor changes and a general cleanup of the controls etc. If you know of anyone handy in Electronics its worth a try perhaps.....
