Trunk opener?????

Postby foamermetal » Wed Jul 15, 2009 11:31 pm

Anyone tell me and perhaps post a picture of the location of the trunk release solenoid on the 82 lebaron convertible?

If you are looking for the remote button to open the trunk, it's in the glove box, left side at the top. Put you head down and look at the top edge. It was standard on the Mark Cross and only works when the key is on.

There is an electric trunk release switch in the glove box as per page 20 in the owners manual but cant get it to work, YET, and there is a spot for a fuse and circuit breaker for the solenoid. It probably died and got off loaded but I would like to get it working again just don't know where the location of the solenoid would be.

Right above on the latch mechanism. I will try to remember to get a photo later today to post if no one else beats me to it.

Thanks for the picture. Thats worth a thousand words. I have the cylindrical plug for the solenoid. I had no idea it was on the latch itself. Mine seems to be missing. Any other Mopar products out there use the same latch? K cars are really scarce around the middle Georgia area.

i think you might be able to find one of these on a 83-87 newyorker, or a 82-88 lebaron sedan or convertable.

I can relate to the good feeling you get when you wiggle the star. I would just like to have th option back. Ijust dont understand why people just toss things instead of fixing them. Just leave the part there or throw it in the trunk. While digging in my junk in the trunk. I was fortunate to find my broken back to the ashtray that was laying in the floor. 30 minutes with some jb weld and you cant even tell it was broken.
