Stiff gas pedal, engine temp

Postby RonnieV » Wed Apr 30, 2008 10:30 pm

Just bought an '85 Reliant 2.2L 3spd auto carb'd and it has 58k on it. The gas pedal feels stiffer than the clutch in a cummins diesel, is this normal? Doesnt seem to warm up to the middle of the temp gauge, needs thermostat? Otherwise seems to run great.

Thanks,
Ron

most of your 85 models will have a stiff gas pedal because they are carbed, also about your heat guage, k-cars dont run in the middle of the guage they run at about 3/4 of the way from cold, but if it goes past that you either have a thumostat or a bad headgasket.
