Turn signal inop help!

Postby Dadhada400 » Sun Mar 21, 2010 2:11 am

Hi all - puzzling problem. No turn signals. Hazzard flashers work - but the turn signal indicator lights on dash (and exterior bulbs) just stay solid lighted when the stalk switch is moved to indicate right or left turn. Have replaced the flasher and the 20 amp fuse (#10 location in my manual) - same problem persists. Any thoughts?

May be a crazy question but does it have a hitch or wiring harness for a hitch? I see those wiring harnesses cause so much turn signal problems its not even funny anymore... :|

Nope. No hitch harness. I thought this would be an easy diagnosis - just doesn't make sense. Half the reason for buying an older car was easy dignosis - now this. Ugh..........

Heres a thought that may help. My 84 actually has TWO flasher relays, one in the usual place, and one mounted up just behind the ash tray. I had your problem when I got my vehicle; my ex- mechanic was a whiz at finding this stuff. He replaced the secondary and......that was it.
