This may sound dumb..so bear with me.
Is your car throwing a code 25?
Is the pintle not moving inside the AIS motor easily as it should?? have you tried cleaning it?? Just wondering.
This may sound even dumber, but, although your part is called a automatic Idle speed motor, "AIS" motor, they may 25 years later call it something else, such as a Idle Speed Control Motor or a Idle speed Control Solenoid.
Case in point, I took my car in 2 years ago and told them to replace distr. cap, rotor button, hall effect sensor, plugs, plug wires.............the mechanic called me and said my car was ready. i went down and he told me he replaced everything but the Hall effect sensor....I was sure that it was called a Hall Effect Sensor, so me being the idiot I am, went on to argue with him, he has been a mechanic for 18 years, and said he never has heard of the term.
so to make a long story short, after I told him where the Hall effect sensor was located, he said "OH" you mean your pick-up coil????????????
so what I am saying, everything I read on-line and in my manual called it a Hall Effect Sensor......but the mechanics called it a pick-up coil!!! Why...........I dunno.........but I am just saying.
I looked for 2 hours on-line looking for that part for your car, although I didn't see what type of motor you have or if it is a turbo or what, I just keyed in 1986 Dodge 600 and let er rip.
O'Reilly auto parts had a Idle Speed Control Solenoid for $64.99.....but as I said, I am not sure it was for your car, as you did not state or my blind ass didn't see what type of motor you have.
I'll continue to look on-line...there is a guy on here Marty Mopar that has lots of K-car parts he is located in Arizona and ships items if he has them.
You may look him up at the top of the page where it says "members" and look for his handle MartyMopar. He is a nice guy and always willing to help if he has the part in question.
Good Luck and let us know if you find it.
Also..let us know if yu have a 2.2L or a 2.6l engine, heck one of us may have one sitting in our garage.
