Justin, NGK is good for the Mitsubishi engine (and lots of other cars). Leave the 2.6 alone. You hate it, I get that, but other people have it, possibly like it, and need it to stay running. Bosch is junk. Their oxygen sensors are junk, their plugs are junk, their ABS system is junk.

OP, did you ever get the bad plug out of your car and get it running again?

Ended up going for BDC so I wouldn't run something into the top of the piston. None of the extractors worked so I drilled the old plug out with a right angle drill and re-tapped the hole. Thought everything was fine until a pff, pff, pff and a little shaving cream around the plug showed some blow-by. Took it to a mechanic and he said no guarantees that he could fix it with out finding a new head. Installed an insert and everything is fine so far. He found a piece of the threads of the old plug that was left because I drilled a little crooked. He said that it was this close >< to not being able to install an insert.
