K-car hunts idle and hesitates.

Hi. New club member art from San Diego here, with a few questions about my new 1987 reliant 2.2 S.F.I. As you can tell from the subject name, my poor car, ' Kay ' hunts idle (especialy when cold),hesitates on acceleration (especialy when cold), and is getting about 16 to 17 MPG city. Dash -flashed trouble codes are ' 26 and 51 '. Any help/advice would be appreciated! Much obliged!

Also, sometimes if your oxygen sensor has bad for awhile your catalytic converter is ruined.
