I have had some stalling problems with my 1985 Chrysler Lebaron Turbo Convertible Mark Cross. The Red Power Loss will come on when the car stalls. It seems to stall when I reduce the speed to 30 - 35 miles per hour or when I am stopped at a light or slowing down.

Took car to Chrysler dealership twice to diagnose the problem but they can't replicate what is going on with it.

Do you know what may be causing the car to stall?

I am trying to find a mechanic who works specifically with classic cars and/or this particular vehicle.

My 86 would stall at lights after driving 25 min to town at highway speeds. I cleaned up a ground connection which solved that problem. Behind the battery there is an air pipe going to the air cleaner housing, take it off and underneath that is a ground screw grounding to the inner splash pan,take it off and scrape it clean. (sand paper or scrape with a screwdriver) Always keep battery connections clean. there are other grounds that rust a bit over time. Another problem on these cars is vacuum leaks, the hoses are getting old and brittle. Connections and vacuum leaks can be intermittent problems but are easy do it yourself stuff if you can fine them. Hope it helps.

My 85 2.2 Turbo does similar
under accel it picks up speed, then the red power loss light comes on and will start shutting down until u let off of the accelerator, then idles smooth like a babies butt....
my vacuum lines appear all ok...
Does anyone have a vacuum line diagram?

Took my 85KCAR to a mechanic and hope to have the stall problems resolved!weather is getting cooler here in SA and would like to start enjoying the convertible again! Wish me luck. Thanks
